Alex began teaching upright bass thirteen years ago. He teaches all skill levels from beginners to advanced players and works children and adults alike. During lessons, Alex covers topics including: healthy techniques for holding and playing the bass, maximizing on tone production both when plucking and bowing, learning how to play by ear, creating good bass lines, playing melodies, improvising, reading music (if you desire), and creating music with others. In addition to upright bass lessons, Alex also teaches clawhammer banjo, guitar, cello, beginning violin/fiddle, and harmonica.
