The harmonica is truly an instrument ready for a quarantine. Tiny yet powerful, you can slip a harmonica into your pocket and make music wherever you go (even if you’re not going much of anywhere).
Join one of Baltimore’s most generous musicians and music teachers, Alex Lacquement (Charm City Junction, Bumper Jacksons, Rusty Sal), on Sundays this fall in Patterson Park for some harmonica 101.

After this 4-week harmonica workshop, you will be able to:

• Make music with other people in real life
• Understand how to play single notes and chords 
• Play in two different keys on one harmonica
• Perform the melody and chords to a simple blues song

During each week’s session you will receive handouts (physical & digital) with written music, harmonica tabs, recordings, and play-a-long tracks to help you learn.
Students must have their own C-key harmonica. Alex suggests purchasing either an entry-level (less than $8) Hohner Bluesband available here or a pro-level ($45) Hohner Special 20 available here.
